TAL AVIV: A British newspaper has claimed that the Gaza war is expected to end within two weeks.
According to the report, following a U.S. attack on Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a phone conversation.
Both leaders reportedly agreed on a ceasefire in Gaza. The report further states that, as part of the ceasefire deal, Israeli hostages held by Hamas will be released, and Hamas will be expelled from Gaza
The ongoing war in Gaza has resulted in an unprecedented humanitarian disaster. Since October 2023, more than 56,000 Palestinians have lost their lives, with over 132,000 injured, many critically.
Among the victims are thousands of women and children, and more than 10,000 individuals have suffered permanent disabilities, including over 3,000 children who have undergone amputations.
Israeli sources also report over 1,700 casualties, including both civilians and military personnel.
The destruction of infrastructure has been widespread and devastating. Nearly 60% of Gaza’s homes and 80% of its commercial buildings have been damaged or destroyed.
Roads, hospitals, and water and sanitation systems are barely functioning. Electricity access has declined by over 90%, leaving hospitals and essential services paralyzed.
Clean water is scarce, and most of Gaza’s population now depends on limited humanitarian aid.

Healthcare services have nearly collapsed, with most hospitals either non-functional or severely understaffed due to strikes, fuel shortages, and repeated attacks.
