RIYADH: Six Pakistani nationals were killed after a gas cylinder exploded inside a residential building in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, media reports said on Thursday.
The explosion occurred late Wednesday in the Manfouha district, causing extensive damage to part of the building.
All six victims were residents of Pakistan’s northwestern Mansehra district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to initial reports.
Pakistan Embassy Assists Families After Saudi Arabia Gas Cylinder Blast
The Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh said it was coordinating with Saudi authorities to complete legal formalities and arrange the repatriation of the victims’ bodies.
The embassy said it would extend all possible consular assistance to the bereaved families.
Saudi authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
The incident has triggered grief among the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia, while condolences continue to pour in for the families of the victims.
