DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The funeral prayers for the police personnel martyred in the recent terrorist attack on the Police Training School in Dera Ismail Khan were conducted at the Police Lines.
The funeral ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, senior government officials, police officers, and a large number of citizens who gathered to pay tribute to the fallen heroes.
The Chief Minister expressed deep sadness over the loss of brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
He praised their courage and commitment, stating that their sacrifice would not go in vain and that the government would continue its efforts to eliminate terrorism from the province.
In this sense, the sacrifices of the martyred personnel, Chief Minister Gandapur announced a special financial package for their families.
In this regard, each family of the martyred police personnel will receive Rs. 10 million, and Rs. 5 million will be provided to those who were injured in the attack.
In addition, the Chief Minister also announced a reward of Rs. 1 million each for the officers and soldiers who displayed outstanding bravery during the counter-operation.
He commended the security forces for their quick and effective response, which prevented further loss of life and ensured the safety of many others at the training school.
Last night’s tragic attack at the Police Training Center, where six policemen, including trainees, were martyred during the intense exchange of fire. Twelve others, along with one civilian, sustained injuries. The ISPR added that the attackers also targeted a mosque inside the school compound, desecrating the sacred site and brutally killing the Imam Masjid, an unarmed civilian serving in the school.
The Chief Minister Gandapur confirmed the provincial government’s constant support for the police force and their families.
He said that the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers would always be remembered with pride and honor.
The attack on the Police Training School has been widely condemned across the country, with leaders from various political and social circles calling for stronger measures to combat terrorism.
