ISLAMABAD: There is a possibility that petroleum products will become more expensive starting from March 1.
According to sources, petrol may increase by Rs 4.58 per litre for the next 15 days, while diesel could rise by up to Rs 4.73 per litre.
Sources further indicated that kerosene oil (مٹی کا تیل) may become more expensive by Rs 6.88 per litre, and light diesel oil could increase by Rs 5 per litre.
(Note: These figures appear to be early estimates circulating in media reports as of late February 2026.
Recent analyst projections (e.g., from Arif Habib Limited and others) suggest slightly higher potential hikes, such as around Rs 5.13 for petrol and up to Rs 6.80 for high-speed diesel, depending on final OGRA/government approval.
The exact adjustment will be confirmed closer to March 1, influenced by global crude prices, exchange rates, and levies.
No official OGRA notification has been issued yet for the March 1–15 period.)
