Four Levies officials suspended in Pishin for alleged drug links, corruption

PISHIN: The Balochistan Levies Force has suspended four of its personnel in District Pishin following serious allegations of misappropriating seized narcotics, misuse of officials’ authority, and establishing contacts with drug peddlers and facilitators that surfaced on social media.

Levies conducted a successful raid near Surkhab, recovering 750 kilograms of opium. However, serious irregularities followed the operation.

According to reports, the former Assistant Commissioner and several Levies officials allegedly divided the seized drugs among themselves. The SHO reportedly filed a case for only 80 kilograms, while the rest was secretly distributed.

The Director General of Levies took swift action, suspending four personnel for negligence of duty, alleged corruption, and misuse of authority. Those suspended include the Naib Risaldar Younus Khan, Muharrir Ameer Muhammad and Kaleem Ullah and Sepoy Muhammad Shafi.

In response, the Director General of the Balochistan Levies Force took swift action, placing the services of the four accused officials under immediate suspension.

“Following surfacing of a message in social media against the following Levies employees of District Pishin owing to their alleged involvement in illegal activities, misuse of officials authority, establishing contacts with drug peddlers and facilitators, involvement in corruption and corrupt practices, the Director General, Balochistan Levies Force, Quetta is pleased to place the services of four personnel “Under Suspension” with immediate effect and order inquiry with the directions to report to Directorate General, Balochistan Levies Force, Quetta, the suspension order issued by the Director General Balochistan Levies Force read.

The Director General, Balochistan Levies Force is further pleased to appoint Mr. Shah Nawaz, Director (Operation), Balochistan Levies Force, Quetta, as “Inquiry Officer” to probe into the allegations as per rules and submit an inquiry report within seven (7) days, it added.
