Four Injured as Police Crack Down on Load Shedding Protest in Quetta

QUETTA: In Quetta’s Satellite Town, a protest erupted at Chandni Chowk against prolonged power outages.

Local residents, frustrated by the extended electricity load shedding, took to the streets, blocking roads by burning tires.

Protesters carried placards and banners denouncing the harsh and continuous power cuts.

In response, police launched a crackdown to disperse the demonstrators, using tear gas and baton charges, which resulted in injuries to four individuals.

In retaliation, enraged protesters set a vehicle on fire.

Social activists strongly condemned the use of force against peaceful demonstrators.

Local traders and residents criticized the authorities, stating that instead of resolving the issue of relentless load shedding, the response is often brutal suppression when people resort to protest.
