DG KHAN : Former Punjab Governor Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa passed away in Lahore on Friday, family sources confirmed. He was 90 years old.
According to his family, Khosa had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Lahore for some time before his death.
A veteran politician, Zulfiqar Khosa was first elected as a member of the Punjab Assembly in 1962. He remained affiliated with the Muslim League for most of his political career. He served as a provincial minister, advisor, senator, and held the position of Governor of Punjab on multiple occasions.
Khosa also served as the president of the Punjab Muslim League-N during Nawaz Sharif’s period of exile. He later joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ahead of the 2018 general elections.
His death has drawn condolences from across the political spectrum. Further funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family
