QUETTA: The Real Baloch Facts, an organisation comprising investigative journalists from Balochistan, has recently released audio of a leaked phone conversation between an Indian intelligence agency (RAW) operative and a member of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
In the leaked audio, RAW agent Major Shukla can be heard speaking with banned BLA member Balach, discussing the Real Baloch Facts report regarding the pro-BLA X account Balochistan Facts.
This leaked audio was also aired by the platform Burak Digital and has gone viral on the internet.
The RAW agent Major Shukla first introduces himself by name and code name, then asks, “What is circulating on social media about our X account, Balochistan Facts?
Balach replies that “We’re getting exposed — people are saying this account is being operated from Delhi, and we’re being asked to share real-time videos if we are really in Balochistan.
The Real Baloch Facts, which published this audio, had also challenged the operator of Balochistan Facts, Arjun Shukla, to share real-time footage from Balochistan if he truly is based in the region.
In the same audio, Arjun Shukla is heard saying: “They’re challenging me to show real-time videos—do something quickly!”
Claim:
It is being alleged that Balochistan Facts, which supports the banned BLA separatist movement, is actually operated from India.
Fact Check:
The Fact Check team analyzed the leaked video to verify its authenticity. It was confirmed that the audio conversation between Arjun Shukla and Balach is real, and Shukla was indeed speaking from Delhi.
On the other hand, in response to Burak Digital’s challenge, Balochistan Facts has yet to release any real-time video from Balochistan.
It is worth noting that even before this audio surfaced, Burak Digital had released a report identifying fake social media accounts being run in the name of Baloch people.
