ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that defensive actions were taken in response to terrorist attacks and provocations originating from Afghan soil under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.
He added that these operations inflicted heavy losses on terrorist organizations and targeted their hideouts.
The Foreign Office emphasized that Pakistan undertook these measures in exercise of its right to self-defense to protect its citizens and the region. Any further provocation by the Taliban regime or terrorist groups will be met with a resolute response.
The spokesperson affirmed Pakistan’s desire for peace and stability in the region and will continue diplomatic efforts to address the issue of terrorism.
He noted that Pakistan’s goodwill has been misinterpreted, leading to an increase in attacks from Afghan territory.
The Foreign Office demanded that the Afghan government immediately halt the activities of Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan (referring to terrorist elements and proxies).
Andrabi called on the international community to pressure the Taliban regime to take concrete action against terrorist groups.
Pakistan reserves the right to take all appropriate measures in self-defense under the United Nations Charter.
