Foreign Office Issues Clear and Firm Stance on Istanbul Talks

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has presented a clear, evidence-based, and comprehensive stance regarding Afghanistan. It has shared the complete background of Pakistan-Afghanistan relations with the world, supported by verified facts and documentation.

According to diplomatic sources, Pakistan’s position is free from bias and grounded in truth and merit. Neutral countries have endorsed Pakistan’s stance, acknowledging its responsible and balanced approach.

Diplomatic sources emphasized that Pakistan has always demonstrated responsibility and remains committed to promoting peace and stability in the region.

They further noted that Pakistan is handling the Afghan situation with diplomatic skill and moral integrity, which has earned international recognition for its principled position.

The statement also logically and factually explained the reasons behind the deadlock from the Afghan side.

Diplomatic sources added that Pakistan has corrected the record and effectively dispelled misunderstandings surrounding the issue.

It is worth mentioning that the peace- talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan took place in Istanbul in the last week.

Pakistan agreed to give one more chance to the peace process on the request of the mediators Turkey and Qatar.

However, the Afghan delegation failed to give a written guarantee for the cooperation on the matter of cross-border terrorism.

Mediators too supported Pakistan’s point of view and urged the Afghan delegation to give a written assurance, however, the peace-talks met a dead-end and the delegations called off the meeting.

Pakistan has a clear stance that the militancy from the Afghanistan’s territory in Pakistan will not be tolerated. The militants from Afghanistan have launched more than 600 attacks on the security forces in KP and Balochistan this year. Hundreds of innocent people have been killed in the militant-attacks. However, Afghanistan has been denying the backing of the militants calling it ‘ an internal security laps of Pakistan.’

Pakistan has made it clear that any further militant-attacks from Afghanistan will be responded in a decisive way.
