Foreign Office strongly condemns Taliban aggression

Islamabad— The  Foreign Office of Pakistan has expressed grave concern over what it termed “unwarranted aggression” by the Afghan Taliban, Fitna-e-Khawarij, and Fitna-e-Hindustan along the Pak-Afghan border during the night of October 11–12.

In a press release issued by the ministry, Pakistan stated that these unprovoked attacks were an attempt to destabilize the border and undermine the spirit of peace and cooperation between the two neighbouring nations.

According to the statement, Pakistan exercised its right to self-defence, effectively repelling the assaults and inflicting heavy losses on Taliban and affiliated militant groups in terms of personnel, equipment, and infrastructure.

The damaged facilities were reportedly being used to plan and support terrorist activities against Pakistan.

The ministry emphasized that the response was precise and aimed at avoiding civilian casualties.

Reaffirming its commitment to dialogue and diplomacy, Pakistan said it remains vigilant and ready to take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its citizens.

The statement warned that any further provocations from Afghan territory would be met with a “strong and resolute” response.

The Foreign Office also rejected remarks made by the Interim Afghan Foreign Minister during his visit to India, calling them “baseless assertions” aimed at diverting attention from the presence of terrorist networks operating within Afghanistan.

Pakistan noted that the existence and activities of these groups have been repeatedly documented in UN reports.

Islamabad urged the Taliban regime to fulfill its commitments by ensuring Afghan soil is not used for terrorism against any country and to take verifiable action against groups like Fitna-e-Khawarij and Fitna-e-Hindustan.

The statement also highlighted Pakistan’s long-standing hospitality towards nearly four million Afghan refugees over the past four decades, asserting that their stay would now be regulated in line with international norms.

Concluding the statement, Pakistan reiterated its desire for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Afghanistan and called on the Taliban government to act responsibly, uphold its promises, and contribute to regional peace.
