ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office (FO) described the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as “Indian proxies,” accusing them of pursuing a well-coordinated agenda to destabilise Pakistan.
In this sense, the Foreign Office Spokesperson responding to a question regarding the recent findings of a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) report, which noted that the increasing cooperation between banned terrorist outfits, including the BLA and TTP, FO Spokesperson Shafaqat Ali Khan strongly rejected the impression that these groups operated independently.
The UNSC report had raised concerns about the operational linkages between the two groups, suggesting potential collaboration in carrying out attacks within Pakistan.
In this regard, the Spokesperson was commenting on the regional security landscape, the FO reasserted on the Pakistan’s desire for peace and cooperation across South Asia but stressed that this vision cannot materialise unless all countries respect the principles of non-interference and mutual sovereignty.

When asked about possible diplomatic measures in light of the UNSC report, the spokesperson said Pakistan would continue to raise the issue at international forums and engage with its partners to ensure that the global community holds perpetrators and facilitators of terrorism accountable.
