Unbelievable hike in the flour price raises concerns

FAISALABAD: In a shocking development, flour prices in Faisalabad, Punjab, have skyrocketed, with an abrupt increase of 50 to 60 rupees per kilogram.

Across markets in the city, a kilogram of flour is now selling for up to 140 rupees.

Sources confirm that millers have raised the wholesale rates, pushing the retail price to this new high, leaving residents in disbelief over the sudden hike.

Shopkeepers defend the increase, stating that they are receiving flour from mills at higher costs and cannot sell it cheaply.

Consumers have expressed frustration, pointing out that while Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz boasts of progress and development in speeches, essential items like flour are becoming increasingly unaffordable for the common people.

They have demanded that the government focus on basic necessities and take effective steps to ensure the availability of food items at reasonable prices.
