Flash floods kill four members of the same family in Zhob

ZHOB: Flash floods triggered by monsoon rains killed four members of the same family in Zhob, while Levies rescued three men stranded in Harnai, officials confirmed Saturday.

The victims—two young girls, a child, and a woman—were visiting from Multan and were swept away by the sudden surge of water. Levies personnel, aided by local residents, quickly launched a rescue operation and recovered all four bodies. Authorities shifted the deceased to the Trauma Center Zhob.

The tragic incident occurred roughly 13 kilometers east of Zhob city while the family was picnicking near a stream when the floodwaters surged without warning.

Meanwhile, in the Khost subdivision of Harnai, flash flooding stranded three men—Hazrat Syed, Zeeshan, and Rehan—in a rising stream. Acting on the urgent directives of Deputy Commissioner Hazrat Wali Kakar, the Levies Force conducted a successful rescue operation and brought all three to safety.

The Deputy Commissioner praised the Levies for their timely and effective response. He also urged citizens to avoid riverbanks and streams during the ongoing monsoon season. He advised the public to immediately report emergencies to the DC Office Control Room to ensure rapid response by local authorities.

Heavy monsoon rains continue to pose a threat to life and infrastructure across Balochistan, prompting district administrations to remain on high alert.
