Fitna Al Khawarij launch quadcopter attack on Bannu police station

BANNU: The Fitna Al Khawarij targeted the Miryan Police Station in Bannu using a quadcopter to drop explosives. This indicates the fifth such attack on the same police installation within a month.

The unmanned aerial device dropped ammunition inside the compound of the police station. Fortunately, no casualties or damage were reported.

Policemen attempted to neutralize the drone by opening fire; however, the altitude of the quadcopter made it difficult to bring down.

This repeated targeting underlines a growing pattern of drone-based tactics used by terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), particularly by the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), as per military assessments.

In such a scenario, security forces launched a large-scale search operation in the area, while security protocols were heightened across the Bannu district.

On the other hand, the separate but related incident, a midnight terrorist assault on the Serai Gambila Police Station in Lakki Marwat was successfully repulsed by alert personnel.

The Serai Gambila Police Station, located along the critical Peshawar-Karachi Highway near the Gambila River, has been targeted multiple times in recent years, highlighting its vulnerability due to its strategic location.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed and Bannu Regional Police Officer Sajjad Khan praised the courage and quick response of the personnel involved.
