CTD arrests key Fitna al Hindustan operative linked to Dr. Usman Qazi

QUETTA: Balochistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) said on Friday it had arrested a senior operative of the Indian proxy and internationally designated terrorist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), accused of facilitating militants and engaging in anti-state activities.

The suspect, Mir Khan Muhammad, a close associate of Dr. Usman Qazi, studied law at the International Islamic University in Islamabad and later served as a prosecutor inspector in Balochistan.

Dr. Usman Qazi, is a grade-18 lecturer at the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), was arrested by the security forces for plotting a foiled suicide bombing aimed at last week’s Independence Day celebrations.

Investigators revealed that he had been facilitating militants and was actively involved in anti-state activities. During initial interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to participating in more than a dozen terrorist incidents.

Authorities said further disclosures are expected as the investigation progresses. Security agencies remain on high alert.
