Pasni: The Fish Company owners in Pasni allege Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman for backing illegal circling and hold a protest.
The Pasni fish company owners and the Fisherman Welfare Society hold a protest against the Assistant commissioner Fisheries Pasni.
The protestors chanted slogans in front of the Fisheries office in Pasni.
Thw women held a sit-in right in front of the Pasni Fisheries office.
The protestors claimed that the Balochistan government and the Fisheries department has banned on the illegal circling but some fisherman supported by HAQ DO Tehreek are carrying out illegal circling openly.
Such fishermen are allegedly back by the Gwadar’s MPA Mualana Hidayat ur Rehman.
The Fish Company owners and the fishermen unions alleged that the current AD Fisheries is demonstrating nepotism.
Instead of carrying out his responsibilities as an officer, the Assistant director is working as an activist of Haq Do Tehreek.
They alleged that this was the third time when the violence was erupted in the Pansi during his appointment in Pasni.
The protestors demanded from the Balochistan government and the Fisheries department that the current Assistant Director should be immediately transferred and legal action must be taken against all the people involved in the illegal circling. Later on, the protestors postpone the protest on the assurance of banning the illegal circling by the Assistant Director.
It is worth mentioning that fishing in Pasni plays an important role in the livelihood of the local people. Pasni is a coastal town in Balochistan, located along the Arabian Sea.
The sea near Pasni is rich in fish such as tuna, sardines, prawns and other seafood. Many families depend on traditional fishing methods using boats and nets.
The fishing harbour of Pasni helps in storing, processing, and transporting the fish to other cities of Pakistan.
Fishermen often face challenges like bad weather, lack of modern equipment, and high fuel costs, yet they continue their hard work.
Fishing not only supports the economy of Pasni but also provides fresh seafood to the whole region.
