Pakistan will crush militants anywhere on its soil: Field Marshal

RAWALPINDI: In Rawalpindi, prominent Shia scholars and clerics from the Jafaria school of thought met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces. The meeting involved detailed discussions on national security and the role of religious scholars in promoting social harmony.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir emphasized the crucial role of scholars in fostering unity, tolerance, and national cohesion within society. He stressed the need to strongly counter misleading propaganda and sectarianism.

Referring to Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, the Field Marshal made it clear that Pakistan will not tolerate the use of Afghan territory for terrorism against its people. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to eliminate terrorists and their networks operating against the country—wherever they may exist—through precise, intelligence-based operations. He also urged the Afghan Taliban to prevent their soil from being used for anti-Pakistan terrorism.

The Field Marshal informed the participants that Pakistan is actively engaged in diplomacy to reduce tensions in the region.

He called on scholars to play a key role in promoting unity, eliminating extremism, and ensuring that religious sentiments are not exploited to incite violence. He further stated that violence in Pakistan triggered by events in other countries will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The participating scholars reaffirmed their commitment to peace and stability, strongly condemning violence in the name of religion.

They assured full cooperation with law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order in the country.

Special Messages from the Scholars The Shia scholars and clerics reaffirmed their joint resolve for national unity and the stability of Pakistan during the meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. At the conclusion, they issued special messages on national solidarity and unity.

They strongly condemned violence in the name of religion and reiterated full support for state institutions in establishing peace and security. The scholars paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs in defense of the homeland and appreciated the Pakistan Armed Forces’ role in reducing regional tensions.

  • Maulana Zahid Abbas Kazmi (Chairman of Ittehad Ulema-e-Islam) stated that they stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Pakistan Army on every front. The fight against terrorism is not just the Army’s but the entire nation’s. He emphasized that love for the homeland is part of faith, condemned damage to military properties in Gilgit-Baltistan, and distanced themselves from such elements.
  • Allama Shabbir Hassan Maithmi said Pakistan is their country, for which they have made and will continue to make sacrifices. They stand firmly with the nation against all internal and external conspiracies.
  • Maulana Altaf Hussain praised the Pakistan Army’s effective response to unprovoked aggression from Afghanistan. He declared that their identity is solely Pakistani, of which they are proud, and they have decided that from every village, 20 individuals will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces on every front.
  • Allama Arif Wahidi described Pakistan as a pride of the Muslim world and a divine blessing received on 27 Ramadan. He highlighted the armed forces’ humiliating defeat of India in the battle for truth and stated that the entire nation stands with the Pakistan Army against Afghanistan’s unprovoked aggression. For them, Pakistan and its integrity come first.
  • Allama Mirza Ali urged youth not to participate in any anti-state activities and to play a positive role in national stability.
  • Allama Nazir Abbas Taqvi stated that the Khawarij fitna and Indian fitna are involved in terrorism incidents in Pakistan.
  • Allama Tauqeer Abbas affirmed that Pakistan is their country and they stand with the Pakistan Armed Forces for its integrity.
  • Allama Muhammad Hussain Najfi said that if Muslims and Islam are to remain safe, Pakistan must never be weakened.
  • Maulana Basharat Imami paid tribute to the immortal sacrifices of martyrs defending the homeland and their families.
