RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Force CDF Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir attended the 62nd Munich Security Conference in Germany, where he held important meetings with global leaders, including US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal is on a three-day official visit to Germany to participate in the prestigious international security forum.
During the conference, General Munir met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other American officials. Discussions focused on regional security matters and enhancing counter-terrorism cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
The army chief also held separate meetings with Germany’s Interior Minister, Foreign Affairs Advisor, and Chief of Defense. These discussions centered on bilateral defense cooperation and mutual security interests.
Furthermore, General Munir met with the Chief of Joint Staff of Brazil and the Commander General of the Lebanese Armed Forces. According to the ISPR, these meetings involved detailed discussions on defense collaboration, as well as the global and regional security situation.
Pakistan’s participation in the Munich Security Conference underscores the country’s commitment to international dialogue on security challenges and its role in promoting regional peace and stability.
