Field Marshal Asim Munir Visits Bahawalpur Garrison, Reviews Combat Readiness

BAHAWALPUR: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Bahawalpur Garrison and reviewed the corps’ operational readiness, said a military statement on Thursday.

During his visit, senior commanders briefed him on operational, training and administrative matters. The briefing focused on preparations for modern and multi-domain warfare. Commanders outlined current readiness levels and future plans, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in its statement.

COAS Observes Exercise “Steadfast Resolve”

The Field Marshal observed a high-intensity field exercise, “Steadfast Resolve,” at Khairpur Tamewali.

The exercise demonstrated advanced battlefield capabilities. Troops employed modern technologies throughout the drills.

These included unmanned aerial systems, advanced surveillance equipment, electronic warfare assets and modern command-and-control systems.

The exercise highlighted the armed forces’ increasing emphasis on technology-driven and multi-domain operations.

Praise for Troops

Addressing the troops, Field Marshal Asim Munir praised their morale and professionalism. He expressed confidence in their operational preparedness.

He said the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully capable of defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stressed the need for constant readiness to meet future security challenges.

Focus on Future Warfare

The COAS said the nature of warfare is changing rapidly. He said technological advances are reshaping the battlefield.

He added that future conflicts will rely more on technological manoeuvres than physical ones. He said this shift requires mental transformation at all command levels.

He said the armed forces are rapidly adopting new technologies. Innovation, indigenisation and adaptability remain key priorities.

Educational and Technical Initiatives

Earlier, the army chief inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub. The facility aims to promote digital skills and learning.

Officials said the centre will benefit students from southern Punjab and other regions.

He also inaugurated the APS Abbasia Campus. The move reaffirmed the army’s commitment to quality education and character building.

Visit to EME Workshop

Later, the COAS visited the EME Regional Workshop in Bahawalpur. Officials briefed him on maintenance systems for modern military platforms.

They explained the use of advanced technologies, indigenisation and combat support measures to sustain operational capability.

Tribute to Martyrs

Upon arrival, the commander of Bahawalpur Corps received the army chief.

Field Marshal Asim Munir laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha. He paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
