ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Asim Munir has said that Pakistan is on the front line in the global war on terrorism.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during his official visit to the United States, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held detailed and frank discussions with senior scholars, analysts, policy experts, international media, intellectuals and defense experts in Washington DC.
COAS also held detailed discussions with prominent think tanks and strategic affairs institutions in the United States. This meeting with the representatives provided an opportunity to highlight Pakistan’s principled position on important regional and global issues and better explain Pakistan’s strategic vision.
In his address, he said that Pakistan is committed to regional peace and stability, Pakistan is playing a constructive role in the international order, the Army Chief also shed detailed light on the Battle of Haq and Operation Banyan Marsus.
The Field Marshal highlighted Pakistan’s position on terrorism, the Field Marshal also spoke about the use of terrorism by regional actors in hybrid warfare.
Army Chief Asim Munir said that Pakistan is on the frontline in the global war against terrorism, Pakistan has made immense sacrifices on the human and economic levels, Pakistan has immense opportunities in IT, agriculture, minerals and mining.
The Army Chief invited international partners to take advantage of these opportunities, the Army Chief also spoke about Pakistan’s balanced role in regional and global conflicts.
The Army Chief said that conflicts can be resolved through negotiations, diplomacy and in accordance with international laws, Pakistan is playing a responsible role in reducing regional tensions, Pakistan is trying to promote a supportive security framework.

According to the ISPR, the Army Chief also highlighted the long-standing Pak-US partnership. Field Marshal Asim Munir said that there have been historical relations between the two nations, counter-terrorism, regional security and economic development are prominent aspects.
The Army Chief emphasized on broader, multifaceted and mutually respectful relations. The Army Chief also emphasized on promoting strategic interests and economic independence.
The participants appreciated the consistent and principled policies of Pakistan, including the vision of Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and termed it a positive step towards advancing the strategic dialogue between Pakistan and the US.
