QUETTA: On the directives of FIA Director General Riffat Mukhtar Raja, the crackdown on networks involved in hundi/hawala and illegal currency exchange has intensified.
FIA Balochistan Zone conducted multiple operations and arrested three suspects — Abdul Bari, Sanaullah, and Asadullah — for their alleged involvement in hundi/hawala and unlawful currency trading.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the suspects were arrested from different areas of Quetta. Officials recovered a total of 2.7 million Iranian rials and 3,050 Afghanis from their possession.
Mobile phones and other evidence related to hundi/hawala transactions were also seized. The suspects failed to provide satisfactory answers regarding the seized currency.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation.
