QUETTA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Composite Circle Gwadar foiled an attempt to illegally cross into Iran via the sea route and arrested nine individuals involved.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrested suspects belong to different districts of Punjab — including six from Mandi Bahauddin, two from Gujranwala, and one from Sheikhupura. The FIA team apprehended them from the coastal area of Jiwani as they were attempting to leave Pakistan illegally for Iran.
Initial investigations revealed that the suspects planned to travel to other countries through Iran. The FIA has registered a case against them under charges of human smuggling and illegal border crossing.
The spokesperson added that a crackdown against human traffickers and illegal migration networks is actively underway. He reaffirmed that the FIA is utilizing all available resources to curb such unlawful activities and prevent individuals from risking their lives through illegal migration routes.
