KARACHI: The FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi has offloaded an Afghan citizen along with his family during an operation at Karachi Airport, officials said on Monday.
According to FIA sources, the accused identified as Jalaluddin was traveling to Kabul on a foreign airline using a Pakistani passport when he was offloaded along with his wife and two children.
The accused had previously traveled to Afghanistan six to seven times. During scrutiny, videos and photos related to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were recovered from his mobile phone.
Authorities also recovered an Afghan citizen card along with a list of Afghan citizens returning from Pakistan from the accused, who is a resident of Karachi.
During initial investigation, Jalaluddin revealed that he had obtained the Afghan citizen card from an agent for 25,000 Afghanis. He claimed the card was a condition required for doing business in Afghanistan. His neighbor had assisted him in obtaining Afghan documents, including starting a construction business in Afghanistan.
A case has been registered against the accused, and further action is underway, the FIA stated.
