Farooq Sattar issues ‘red line’ warning over Tesori’s removal

KARACHI: In a strongly worded critique of the provincial administration, MQM Leader Farooq Sattar declared that Sindh has been subjected to its “worst government” for the past eighteen years. His remarks signal a major escalation in tensions between his party and the ruling coalition in the province.

Speaking to the media, Sattar specifically addressed the situation surrounding party leader Kamran Tesori. He claimed that Tesori, whom he described as the “people’s governor” appointed by the MQM, is being unfairly targeted. “Kamran Tesori is being punished simply for standing with the victims of the Gul Plaza tragedy,” Sattar asserted, alleging that the decision to remove Tesori was made unilaterally and without any consultation with his party.

The MQM leader drew a firm line in the sand regarding this issue, stating that the decision to oust Tesori is unacceptable. He warned that if the situation is not rectified, his party would be forced to reconsider its role in the government.

“The decision to remove Kamran Tesori is now our red line,” Sattar declared. He suggested that the party should prepare to separate itself from the provincial government, stating that such a move should be considered after the holy month of Ramadan.
