Famous Cricketer Dies of Heart Attack During Match

WEB DESK: Former Ranji Trophy cricketer Lalram Rota, 38, collapsed on the field and died during a local cricket match in Mizoram, India.

According to Indian media reports, Rota complained of chest pain while returning to the pavilion after completing his batting. Moments later, he lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

The incident occurred during the Khalid Memorial Second Division Screening Tournament. Rota was representing the Venghnai Riders Cricket Club (VRCC) in a match against Chawnpui Cricket Club.

Eyewitnesses said that immediately after feeling unwell, Rota collapsed. He was given urgent medical attention on the field, but later, his death was confirmed.

The Cricket Association of Mizoram (CAM) confirmed that Rota suffered a stroke during the match.

Rota had represented Mizoram twice in the Ranji Trophy and played seven matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He had been actively involved in local cricket for many years, representing various clubs and contributing significantly to grassroots cricket development in the region.
