MASHKAI: There are certain anti-state elements that have been propagating false narratives surrounding the killing of Abdul Latif, in an attempt to mislead the public and distort the truth.
As per the verified reports and information, Abdul Latif was a sepoy in the Levies Force and also served as a local correspondent for Intekhab, a regional newspaper. He was targeted and martyred by operatives of the banned terrorist outfit, Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), in the early hours of May 23–24, 2025.
Furthermore, the attack took place around 3:00 AM in the Mewar area of Mashkai district. In this regard, eyewitnesses and security sources confirmed that heavily armed BLF militants stormed into Abdul Latif’s residence and opened indiscriminate fire, resulting in his martyrdom.

However, despite the clear involvement of the BLF, known internationally and domestically as a terrorist organization, elements associated with the Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) led by Mahrang Baloch, have allegedly initiated a coordinated campaign to misrepresent the killing.
