False propaganda on control of Zehri exposed

QUETTA: As far as authorities are concerned; they have strongly rejected claims made in a recently circulated video suggesting that militants had gained control over parts of Zehri in Balochistan.

In this sense, the video, lasting between one to three minutes, was deliberately produced to create the illusion that militants had taken over the area.

In this regard, security officials maintained that the reality on the ground remains stable, with law enforcement agencies firmly in control of all parts of Zehri and surrounding districts. Furthermore, authorities further focused on that any attempt to disrupt peace and mislead the public would be met with a swift and decisive response.

“These elements should be clear that there is neither escape nor shelter from the resolve of the state and its security forces. Any unlawful act will invite an immediate and firm response,” the statement concluded.

Moreover, propaganda has increasingly become a tool used by anti-state groups to project influence disproportionate to their actual presence on the ground. However, local communities in Balochistan, witnessing ongoing infrastructure and social welfare projects, are said to be increasingly resistant to such tactics.
