Fakhar Zaman withdraws retirement plans, aims for graceful exit from T20 cricket

Pakistan’s opening batter Fakhar Zaman has revealed that he had considered retiring from the shorter format of cricket following the World Cup. However, the left-handed batter has now decided to withdraw those plans.

Fakhar Zaman said that while retirement from T20 cricket had crossed his mind, he now believes it is not the right time to step away. He focused on that rather than making an abrupt exit, he prefers to conclude his T20 career in a dignified and well-planned manner.

“I do not want to say goodbye to T20 cricket suddenly,” he stated. “Whenever I decide to retire, I want it to be in a proper and respectful way.” His statements indicate a measured and thoughtful approach toward his professional future, mentioning his desire to maintain both personal standards and professional integrity.

Fakhar further added that he remains eager to serve the national side and contribute meaningfully through his performances. He reasserted his ambition to continue representing Pakistan at the highest level and to play a role in bringing pride to the country through cricket.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, fast bowler Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League for an indefinite period due to injury concerns, adding to the team’s current challenges.
