Fact Check: Viral ‘Kirana Hills blast’ video is actually from Yemen, not Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A video is circulating on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter) from Indian accounts claiming Indian second strike on Kirana Hills in Sargodha.

The video posted by the handle Milind (@onlymilind1) has stirred online chatter, allegedly showing a “secondary blast” in Pakistan’s Kirana Hills. The post featured a laughing emoji 😆 and a caption that read:

“CAUTION: Not verified or authenticated by me. As received on WhatsApp. This was what the alleged secondary blast looked like in Kirana Hills… which of course we don’t know and we never hit 😆

Despite the disclaimer, the implication was clear—linking the video to a rumored Indian strike near Sargodha, Pakistan, amid rising Indo-Pak tensions.

Another handle, The Jaipur Dialogues, wrote The blast at Kirana Hills that never happened.

However, a closer inspection by digital forensics and fact-check platforms has debunked the claim. The footage, as confirmed by Propaganda Exposed and other open-source verification sources, is not from Pakistan but dates back nearly 10 years and originates from Sanaa, Yemen. The clip has previously circulated online, depicting explosions unrelated to any recent regional conflict involving India and Pakistan.

Interestingly, the X-owned fact-checking platform also debunked the claim with a reply saying, ‘This video is not from Kirana Hills, Pakistan. It shows a 2015 bombing in Sana’a, Yemen, targeting Houthi rebels.

Claim: Video shows a secondary explosion at Pakistan’s Kirana Hills duringthe  recent conflict.

Fact: The video is old and from Yemen, not connected to any recent incident in Pakistan.
