ISLAMABAD: A severe heatwave grips Pakistan as temperatures soar across the country. Bhakkar and Dera Ismail Khan recorded a scorching 50°C.
Bannu, Sargodha, Noorpur Thal, and Sibi faced 49°C. Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Jacobabad, and Mandi Bahauddin reported 48°C.
Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, and Dadu saw highs of 47°C. Nawabshah, Bahawalpur, Peshawar, and Islamabad hit 46°C.
Meteorologists expect upper regions to experience temperatures 5 to 7 degrees above normal on June 11 and 12. Southern areas may see 4 to 6 degrees above average.
The heatwave is likely to continue until Thursday. Authorities urge citizens to stay indoors, hydrate, and avoid direct sunlight.
