Employee protests end in Balochistan as government forms committee

Quetta: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has approved the release of Balochistan Grand Alliance’s arrested employees following recommendations from provincial ministers Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Syed Iqbal Shah, and Ramzan Achakzai.

A government committee has also been formed under the leadership of Mir Shoaib Nosherwani for mutual dialogue.

The committee will include Provincial Minister Raheela Durrani, Parliamentary Secretary Asfandyar Kakar, and representatives of the Grand Alliance.

The government delegation has termed this step as progress toward reconciliation with employees and a peaceful resolution of the issue, stressing that the government is serious about addressing and resolving the employees’ concerns.

The newly formed committee will begin negotiations on urgent matters starting Thursday, July 3, and will present its recommendations to the Chief Minister for approval.

Following the government’s assurance, the Balochistan Grand Alliance announced the postponement of its protest movement.

This announcement was made by Grand Alliance leaders during a meeting with Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani and Raheela Durrani.
