GWADAR: Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and a member of the provincial assembly, has underscored education as the fundamental cure for the region’s challenges, during celebrations marking Allama Iqbal’s birth anniversary.

Participating in a ceremony at GDA School Gwadar, the MPA emphasized that the restoration and promotion of educational activities in Gwadar is his “first mission.” He urged the youth to become the “falcons of Iqbal” and serve their community by acquiring a high-quality education. “The cure for ignorance, poverty, and misguidance is education and only education,” he stated, addressing the gathering.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman called for a collective effort to elevate Gwadar’s educational standards to par with other provinces. He stressed the need for proper guidance for students and demanded that the government provide necessary facilities and amenities to educational institutions. He also appealed to teachers to perform their duties with honesty and sincerity to equip both boys and girls with excellent knowledge, while urging the district administration and the GDA to play an active role in eradicating illiteracy from the district.

Following his address, the JI leader distributed honorary certificates among the female students of the school, recognizing their academic efforts.

In a related event earlier at Degree College Gwadar, the MPA took concrete steps to encourage academic excellence. He personally awarded a motorcycle to the first-position student and laptops to the students who secured second and third positions. These high-value incentives signal a strong push to motivate students in Gwadar to prioritize their studies, linking academic achievement with tangible rewards and reinforcing the day’s central message of educational empowerment as the key to regional development.

In a separate development the authorities have opened a new public park in Sangar Phase-I Housing Scheme, adding another recreational space to the city’s growing attractions.

Major General Habib Nawaz and Deputy Commissioner Hamood-ur-Rehman inaugurated the park on Friday. The officials toured the site, reviewed its layout, and praised the development team for creating a clean, modern facility.

The inauguration featured local music and refreshments to highlight Gwadar’s culture and community spirit.

According to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the park will offer a healthy leisure option for residents and tourists. Officials said it reflects Gwadar’s vision of becoming a green, vibrant, and visitor-friendly city in Balochistan.
