Education ignites change for women in Balochistan Budget 2025-26

QUETTA: Balochistan government has unveiled a remarkable initiative in its 2025-26 budget, allocating PKR 45 million for the revival and construction of girls’ educational institutions across the province.

This initiative indicates a renewed commitment to gender equity in education, aiming to provide thousands of young women particularly from remote and underserved areas with the tools to build brighter futures.

In this regard, further momentum to this positive shift, the government has announced the establishment of vocational training centers in key cities including Quetta, Loralai, Zhob, and Turbat. These centers will equip women and girls with essential life and livelihood skills such as computer literacy, embroidery, sewing, and modern agricultural practices.

The initiative is expected to not only enhance individual capabilities but also contribute to the economic resilience of entire communities.

So far, a crucial boost is also coming from the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund, which has so far granted scholarships to more than 10,000 female students an impressive 70% of whom hail from rural backgrounds.

These scholarships cover tuition, books, and living expenses, making quality education accessible to students who once viewed it as an unattainable dream.
