ECP announces schedule for Quetta LG polls

QUETTA: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that the elections for reserved seats of the Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) will take place on August 3.

According to details, the returning officers will issue public notices on June 23. Candidates can submit nomination papers between June 24 and 27, and the list of nominated candidates will be published on June 28.

The process of examining nomination papers will be carried out from June 30 to July 2. Candidates who wish to challenge the decisions of returning officers may file appeals between July 3 and 8. These appeals will be reviewed by appellate tribunals, which are expected to deliver their judgments from July 9 to 11.

A corrected list of eligible candidates will be released on July 12. Candidates who wish to withdraw from the race must do so by July 14. The official list of contesting candidates, along with their designated election symbols, will be issued on July 15. Voters will head to the polls on August 3, and the final results are scheduled to be announced on August 6.

A revised list of candidates will be published on July 12. The deadline for candidates to withdraw their nomination papers is July 14. The final list of candidates, along with their allocated electoral symbols will be released on July 15. Polling will take place on August 3 and results announced on August 6.
