Governor calls for economic empowerment of women in Balochistan

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel urged the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) to expand its outreach to the rural areas of Balochistan so that women can assert their rights and build their status.

During a meeting with NCSW member Noreen Bano at the Governor House Quetta, the Governor emphasized the need for greater focus on women’s empowerment in underdevelopedr egions.

He praised the role of women in society, stating that social equality and economic independence for women deserve recognition. He added that women are the pride and dignity of human society, and it is our duty to safeguard their rights and authority.

The Governor noted that women in Balochistan possess the same talent and social skills as women in other provinces, but society has failed to provide them with equal facilities and opportunities.

He pointed out that economic hardship forces the vast majority of women to remain dependent on men in all aspects of life.

He called on every educated and aware citizen to actively work toward ensuring women’s rights, particularly their economic independence.
