Turbat: According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 3.8 in magnitude and occurred at a depth of 76 kilometers.
The epicenter was located 13 kilometers southwest of Turbat.
When the tremors were felt, people rushed out of their homes in fear, reciting the Kalma Tayyaba.
So far, no casualties or property damage have been reported.
Balochistan is one of Pakistan’s most earthquake-prone regions due to its location on major tectonic fault lines, including the Chaman Fault and the Makran Subduction Zone.
These geological features make the province highly vulnerable to frequent low-intensity tremors as well as occasional powerful quakes.
Over the years, the region has experienced several destructive earthquakes, causing significant loss of life and infrastructure damage.
The province’s mountainous terrain, scattered population, and traditional mud-house construction increase the risk of damage during seismic activity.
Additionally, limited accessibility in remote districts often delays emergency response and rescue operations.
Authorities consistently advise residents to follow safety protocols, strengthen building structures where possible, and stay alert to official earthquake warnings.
Continuous monitoring by national and regional seismic centers helps track tremors and assess potential risks, but preparedness remains essential for minimizing the impact of future earthquakes in Balochistan.
