QUETTA: A massive earthquake hits the Rakni area of Balochistan.
The magnitude recorded on the rector scale was five. The depth of the tremor was 15 km underground whereas the center of the earthquake was 39 kilometers away towards northeast.
The people came outside their houses reciting the Kalma Tayyaba. The earthquake brought damage to many mud houses and the precious belongings of the locals were ruined under the rubble.
However, no loss of lives has been reported so far.
It is worth mentioning that several incidents have tremors have been recorded in various areas of Balochistan this year.
The most disastrous of all the earthquakes was recorded some two months ago when nearly 100 houses were damages and several people were injured in the Musa Khel area of Balochistan.
Earthquake, mainly centered in across the border in Afghanistan often affect the Balochistan cities.
Tremors raise tremendous fear among the people of the mountain areas.
People of far and remote areas of Balochistan think that there is no precautionary measure that can been applied quickly to avoid a natural hazard that can turn things around in a flash and turn the houses and other buildings into the rubbles.
Balochistan has a history of the most tragic earthquake in Quetta back in 1935 that ruined nearly all the city located between the mountains and killed some thousands of people.
Balochistan frequently experiences earthquakes due to its location on active fault lines between the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
These quakes often cause significant damage to houses, roads, and infrastructure, especially in remote areas.
Many people lose their lives, and survivors face difficulties such as lack of shelter, food, and medical care.
The government and rescue teams work to provide relief, but due to the rough terrain, reaching affected regions quickly remains a major challenge during disasters.
