Massive earthquake hits many cities of Pakistan

 

ISLAMABAD: A massive earthquake hit several parts of Pakistan including Islamabad and KP area. An earthquake of 5.6 magnitude struck Pakistan and Afghanistan’s area on the Friday evening.

The center of the earthquake was the Hindukash region in Afghanistan which is located on the border area of Aghanistan and Tajikistan.

The magnitude was 5.6 and the depth was 120 km underground.

The earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Swat, Peshawar, Dir, Chitral, Abbot Abad and Malakand.

The massive earthquake causes a lot of fear among the people and the residents of the houses in many cities came rushing outside their houses.

Once again, the Afghanistan’s region remains as the center of the earthquake.

It was just a couple of months ago when a disastrous earthquake hit many areas of Afghanistan causing hundreds of deaths and loss of development infrastructure.

The details of the ongoing earthquake are yet to come.

The natural hazards like earthquakes cause a lot of damage to the under developing countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan where the residential infrastructure in the mountainous areas already comes across challenges.

Earthquakes cause troubles and problems more in the winter season when the people find it extremely difficult to shift to the safer places.

The rescue work too, becomes hard in such areas on account of minimum accessibility and severe weather conditions,
