QUETTA: Quetta Police launched a major crackdown against drug addicts residing in the city’s main drainage channel, commonly referred to as the “City Nullah.” Dozens of drug addicts were arrested during the operation and have been shifted to drug rehabilitation centers for treatment and recovery.
According to police officials, the action is part of a broader initiative to cleanse the city of drug-related issues and ensure public safety. Police also demolished makeshift shelters and hideouts used by drug addicts within the drainage area.
According to eye witness, several drug addicts managed to flee the scene and are currently being traced.
Police officials said that operation against the drug addicts will continue and expand to other areas to completely eliminate drug abuse from the provincial capital of Balochistan. Citizens are being urged to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods to support the authorities in their mission.
