WASHINGTON: The United States President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that “time is running out” for the country to reach a deal, while setting a 48-hour deadline and cautioning of severe consequences if no agreement is made.
In this regard, Trump reasserted his earlier stance, reminding Iran of a previously declared ultimatum. “Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE Strait of Hormuz. Time is running out 48 hours before all hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!” he wrote.
The statement comes amid increased tensions in the Middle East, where geopolitical dynamics remain fragile and sensitive. While Trump did not specify the exact nature of the proposed deal or the actions that could follow the expiration of the deadline, his statements have drawn attention from international observers and policymakers.
Iran has not yet issued an official response to Trump’s latest comments. However, in past instances, Iranian officials have rejected external pressure and emphasized their commitment to national sovereignty and regional stability.
The development underlines ongoing uncertainties surrounding US-Iran relations, which have remained strained for years due to disagreements over nuclear policy, regional influence, and economic sanctions.
So far, global attention remains fixed on potential responses from Tehran and any subsequent developments that could shape the region’s security landscape.
