District administration launches crackdown on price violations

QUETTA: The district administration, under the supervision of special magistrates, carried out extensive inspections and enforcement actions across multiple sub-divisions, including City, Sariab, and Saddar, targeting price control violations, the use of banned plastic bags, encroachments, and illegal mini petrol pumps.

In this regard, a total of 82 shops and markets were inspected during the recent operations. So far, the district administration arrested 20 individuals, and eight were sent to jail on various violations.

Furthermore, nine illegal mini petrol pumps and four shops were sealed for non-compliance with safety and legal standards. The teams also confiscated 35 kilograms of plastic bags and imposed fines amounting to Rs45,000.

In Sub-Division Sariab, Special Magistrate Izzatullah led actions focusing on price control and the use of banned plastic bags at bakeries and tandoors, in addition to sealing illegal mini petrol pumps operating without authorization.
