DG ISPR interacts students of Balochistan, stresses public role against terrorism

RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said military operations succeed only when people identify terrorists.

Speaking to students from Balochistan during an internship program, he explained that the army does not simply enter, clear an area, and leave it for terrorists to return. Operations must be planned carefully, which is why they are called intelligence-based operations.

He stressed that the army does not target innocent civilians in the name of counterterrorism. However, anyone who shelters terrorists or stores explosives will face consequences.

The DG ISPR said the army works with both people and the administration to expose facilitators and planners. He clarified that entire villages cannot be punished for the crimes of a few. Instead, people must take a stand, and many in Balochistan are now doing so.

He noted that citizens of Balochistan are fed up with terrorists and are actively identifying them and their supporters.

General Chaudhry praised the people of Balochistan for their intelligence and farsightedness. He cited examples of educated Baloch who have taken control of their future.

He highlighted Samad Yar Jang, a renowned scientist from Cambridge University, originally from Buleda, and Shahzeb Rind, a successful figure from Balochistan.
