ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Director General of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR )Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry and will be holding a press conference at 6:45 pm today.
According to reports, the briefing will focus on the regional security situation following the false flag operation of the India in Pahalgam which left 27 tourists.
The press conference comes amid escalating tensions between Indian and Pakistan, with Pakistan claiming to have ‘solid intelligence‘ showing that India intends to take military action against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours.
The backdrop to the current crisis includes India’s recent suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, a critical agreement governing water-sharing rights of the six rivers between the two countries.
Following the Pahalgam attack, India accused Pakistan of involvement without any proof, leading to a diplomatic crisis.
The DG ISPR yesterday had also held a press conference in which he highlighted the failure of India to provide any credible proof to back its baseless allegations against Pakistan, despite passage of seven days since the Pahalgam attack.
Rejecting the accusations, he said it is India that has not only been supporting terrorist networks but also supplying improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other weapons to carry out attacks in Pakistan.
He also presented stern pieces of evidence of India’s role in sponsoring terrorism and financing militant activities inside Pakistan.
Providing a recent example, DG ISPR said a trained Indian-backed terrorist was apprehended on April 25 from the Jhelum bus stand. During interrogation, he revealed how India planned the attack on passenger train.
The suspect was found in possession of an IED, two mobile phones, and Rs70,000 in cash.
A subsequent raid on his house uncovered an Indian-manufactured drone and Rs1 million in cash, he revealed, adding that the seized items had undergone forensic analysis.
