DG ISPR Admires Balochistan Government Initiatives on National Action Plan

RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General ISPR, stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is propagating a misleading narrative in the war against terrorism.

During the press conference in Rawalpindi, the military spokesperson strongly refuted claims that the conflict is driven by minerals or dollars, saying such assertions mock the sacrifices of soldiers who have been martyred.

He questioned who is receiving dollars, emphasizing that terrorists fighting against Pakistan are the ones being funded, while the armed forces are waging this battle with legitimate resources paid for by the country’s taxpayers.

Regarding minerals, he acknowledged Pakistan’s rich natural resources but stressed that their extraction can only begin once terrorism is eradicated from the region.

The DG ISPR challenged those opposing operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, pointing out that extremists (referred to as Khawarij) do not target them, despite all political parties in the country having suffered losses at the hands of terrorists.

He dismissed conspiracy theories claiming that Afghanistan and India plan a joint attack on Pakistan in 2026, and countered the false narrative questioning why terrorism from Afghanistan affects only Pakistan.

He noted that Iran and European countries have begun deporting Afghans, with Iran reporting a crime rate drop of over 30 percent as a result, and the United States also moving to expel them.
