QUETTA: Director General of the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), Moin-ur-Rehman Khan, carried out an extensive inspection of various civic and infrastructure projects underway in the port city.
In this regard, Khan was accompanied by Chief Engineer Haji Syed Muhammad and other senior GDA officials during the visit.
The inspection tour covered a wide range of development initiatives, including the Shabi Causeway on Marine Drive, ongoing road construction works, the expansion of Dam-e-Zar Road, the Makki Mosque–Mulla Fazil Chowk corridor, the sewerage treatment plant, public parks, the GDA workshop, the proposed Jant Bazaar, and Suragdill ground.
So far, at each site, project teams briefed the GDA Director General on progress, technical details, and timelines. Khan issued directives to contractors and engineers to maintain the highest construction standards while adhering to deadlines.
In this regard, Khan expressed concern over delays observed in certain projects. He noted that such setbacks not only disrupt development schedules but also cause difficulties for local residents who are awaiting improved civic amenities.
Moreover, the strategic importance of Gwadar as a hub for regional connectivity and economic growth, Khan reiterated the GDA’s commitment to fostering sustainable urban development.
He further focused on the fact that well-planned infrastructure, reliable municipal services, and enhanced public facilities are central to improving the quality of life in the port city.

He further stated that the GDA, in collaboration with relevant government departments and stakeholders, is determined to implement projects that reflect both modern urban planning and the aspirations of Gwadar’s citizens.
