Govt reaffirms commitment to peace, development in Balochistan: Danyal

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Danyal Chaudhary on Wednesday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring peace and development in Balochistan.
Speaking at an event in Islamabad, he underscored the government’s initiatives to promote solar energy projects in the province as part of efforts to boost sustainable development.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the deadly blast at a Balochistan National Party (BNP) rally in Quetta, calling it a terrorist attempt to destabilise the province.

In a statement from his office, Sharif expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and prayed for the recovery of those injured. He directed authorities to provide the best possible medical treatment to the wounded.

The prime minister ordered law enforcement agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible “at the earliest.”

Sharif said the attack on a political rally underscored militants’ efforts to spread chaos in Balochistan, adding that “terrorists are enemies of peace and development.” He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to continue its fight against terrorism.
