ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with National Party Chairman Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch on Saturday and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the development and welfare of the people of Balochistan.
The Prime Minister said that Balochistan’s progress and the well-being of its people remain a top priority for his government. He emphasised that efforts are underway to ensure equal opportunities for education and employment for the province’s youth.
Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch thanked the Prime Minister for his special focus on Balochistan’s development.
Prime Minister’s Advisor Dr. Tauqir Shah was also present at the meeting.
It is pertinent to note that in April 2025, National Party Chairman Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch met with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif at his residence in Jati Umra, Lahore.
During the meeting, Dr Baloch urged Nawaz Sharif to take an active political role in resolving the political and economic challenges facing Balochistan, including ongoing protests, detentions, and underdevelopment.

Nawaz Sharif, in response, pledged to support a political solution and promised to engage directly with the province, even committing to a visit to Balochistan soon.
