Denmark Eases Work Permit Rules for Pakistani Professionals

COPENHAGEN: Northern European country Denmark has eased work permit rules, allowing Pakistani professionals to work up to 10 days without a permit during large business events.

The latest change in the permit rules allowed foreign nationals including Pakistanis to participate in international conferences and trade fairs aimed to strengthen Denmark’s position as a global commerce hub.
The new rules allowed foreigners to stay in Denmark and work up to 10 days without permits during large international business events to boost conferences and trade fairs.

Denmark has introduced a new exemption allowing foreign workers to operate without a work permit for up to 10 days during major international business events, easing administrative hurdles for global organizers.

Under the new regulation, foreign nationals employed by companies outside Denmark may temporarily work as part of international event teams. The initiative supports Denmark’s ambition to become a leading destination for global conferences, exhibitions, and large-scale corporate gatherings.

The exemption applies to professionals such as event managers, planners, technicians, communications experts, and other essential support staff involved in event preparation, execution, and dismantling.

Authorities clarified that the exemption is limited to indoor business events with at least 400 registered participants and does not apply to public festivals, concerts, outdoor events, freelancers, or locally hired workers.

Officials said the move balances economic openness with labour protections while enhancing Denmark’s competitiveness in hosting international business events.
