Deadly roads: 12,000 accidents reported in Balochistan in six months

QUETTA: More than 12,000 road accidents were reported on the national and inter-provincial highways of Balochistan during the six months.

According to the report issued by the Medical Emergency Response Centre, at least 239 people were killed in these accidents during this period.

The report stated that 724 accidents occurred at the N-25 Winder location, in which 25 people died and 952 people were injured. In addition, 4 thousand 201 accidents were reported on the N-50 Zhob and 2 thousand 412 accidents were reported at the N-25 Khuzdar Trauma Center.

Moreover, 51 people died in 2454 accidents in the month of June, while 3449 people were injured. The report has stated that most of the accidents occurred in the areas of Khuzdar, Zhob, Sibi and Pishin.

On July 4, 69 accidents occurred during one day, in which 97 people were injured.

In the year of 2024, a total of 20,300 road accidents were occurred, in which 471 people were killed and 17,500 others injured.
